Care Smart Watch is designed for users who need fall detection technology, providing an extra layer of safety. It connects to professional monitoring services to alert emergency responders if a fall occurs. The product includes a smartwatch, mobile app, and physical watch, with additional features like blood oxygen level monitoring, medication reminders, geofencing, and more.

01 - Business Initial Scope

Verizon currently offers products designed for children and teenagers. Verizon aims to develop an innovative solution that enhances senior safety, specifically addressing fall detection and emergency response.

Goal is to create a reliable, connected device that provides immediate assistance in the event of a fall, ensuring peace of mind for seniors and their caregivers.

Research

• People aged 65 and older are at a higher risk of serious falls and require immediate assistance.


• The number of fall-related incidents increases each year.

Hypothesis

• How can we help seniors feel safe and secure during emergencies?

Verizon has partnered with a professional monitoring service to implement an experience that activates when the watch detects a fall. My team and I are responsible for designing the user experience that occurs when this trigger is activated.

08 - APP Wireframes & Usability Testing

Using wireframes and high-fidelity visuals design's prototypes to define IA (information architecture) and conduct usability testing.

• Partnered with the research team to conduct interviews and usability testing. 

• Attend interview sections to observe.

Positives

• Easy to use and navigate.

• Loves the product features provided.

• Heart rate and blood oxygen graphs communicate and understand the risk and non-risk measurements.

• Some of the icons are hard to understand what is for.

• The colors or negatives in the graph are hard to understand.
